For this purpose the Agricultural Management Institute in Ontario asked the University of Guelph to develop a Benchmarking and Agribusiness Assessment. Rijnconsult from the Netherlands and the Food Chain Centre from the UK were asked to bring in the international cases. The focus here was on experiences with cost reduction in the value chain. Some 30 companies were participating in the Assessment.

“If organized in a professional way, working with different complementary international consultants for one client or program is very useful and pleasant. It helps to get a better insight in the specific local situation and gives possibilities for knowledge exchange. This increases the competences of the consultant, speeds up the innovation and above all contributes to a better advice to the client.”
